Light vs. Darkness: A Call to the Good in Us All.

Okay, it's time to speak up: Look around - The world feels heavier than it has in decades. Political chaos, wars raging in Gaza and Ukraine, headlines dripping with violence and hate — it’s overwhelming. Every day brings a fresh storm, and evil & darkness just seems to be winning right now.

The Bible — and nearly every major faith tradition — tells us this world will not last forever. Ever since humanity fell, the world has been broken. Evil exists. Pain exists. The end will come, sooner or later.

But until then, what we do in our time, on this earth is what will echo through eternity. Long after the wars are over, after the divisive figures, the racists, the corrupt politicians, the warlords, and pundits are forgotten, after all the chaos subsides — the only thing that will last is the good we did while we were here.

Good vs. Evil: Who’s Winning?

Make no mistake — this is a battle. You don’t get to just sit it out. Every generation faces its own fight against the forces of darkness, and history only remembers those who stepped forward courageously.

So ask yourself: Who’s Winning?

I bet Homer Simpson could give you a straight-up answer. But here’s the thing — It doesn't have to be that way; because when GOOD confronts EVIL? Evil loses everytime - 10/10.

What Is “Good,” Really ?

Maybe you’re wondering: What is good? According to whom? Good can feel subjective. But deep down, most of us know it when we see it. We feel it in our conscience, in our bones. Here are two real stories that demonstrate what GOOD looks like:

  • Marcus Luttrell & Mohammad Gulab: In 2005, after a Taliban ambush in Afghanistan, U.S. Navy SEAL Marcus Luttrell was the only survivor of his team. An Afghan villager, Mohammad Gulab, risked his own life to shelter Luttrell until U.S. forces could rescue him - Most people regardless of background would agree that, this is what good looks like!

  • Nicholas Winton, “The British Schindler”: In 1939, Winton secretly arranged trains and homes to rescue 669 Jewish children from Nazi-occupied Czechoslovakia. He told no one for 50 years. Decades later, the survivors surrounded him, thanking the man who chose courage over silence - If this isn't what good looks like, then what does?

Still fuzzy on what it means to do and be GOOD? To put it simply - GOOD is LOVETo do and be GOOD is to LOVE the humanity of others just as much as you LOVE your own humanity; to acknowledge that nobody’s humanity including yours is superior or inferior to another’s. THIS IS OUR GREAT CALLING AS HUMANBEINGS.

Where Faith Meets Action

While this isn't meant to be preachy, we strongly encourage you to read and interpret the points of this article honestly.

Based on observation, it appears that lately: many who wear the name “Christian” forget what it truly means to be a christian. Christianity is not a fancy cross necklace or a label that dangles around your neck to justify the prevalent horrible actions that are now commonplace in our current society. Christianity is love, fairness, and understanding, lived out on a daily basis - It is literally compassion in action, in real-time.

Jesus said it best: “Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.” (John 13:34–35)

Even in the current face of certain moral dilemma's & frustrations - hate, racism, violence, cruelty, and intelorance, is not the Christian or Human way.

Even in the current face of deep ideological, political, and economical division - hate, racism, violence, cruelty, and intelorance, is not the Christian or Human way.

So, If your version of Christianity somehow accomodates hatred, racism, cruelty, and the abuse of others in any way, shape or form? Then it IS not Christ you’re following!

A Call to Action

If you think you’re too young, too weak, too small to make a difference — remember:

  • Jeremiah thought he was too young. God said, “Do not say, ‘I am too young.’ You must go to everyone I send you.” (Jeremiah 1:6–7)

  • Gideon thought he was too weak. God called him “mighty warrior.” (Judges 6:12)

Goodness doesn’t wait for permission. It shows up.

No action is too small in the face of growing & scary hatred and violence. We're priviledged in our time to have many interests at our disposals that can help us get our message out:

  • Speak Up: Don’t let hate or lies go unchallenged. Respond with truth and love.

  • Create & Share: Use podcasts, blogs, videos — whatever you have — to spread hope and light.

  • Engage Peacefully: Confront harmful rhetoric with calm, rational, constructive dialogue.

  • Stay Prayerful: Pray for wisdom, courage, and healing for this broken world. Pray for wise and intelligent leaders with the unique abilities to re-establish and manage the delicate balance of our societies.

InAction is not an option; just imagine...

  • If the world had stayed silent as Hitler was Blitzkrieg'ing through Europe?
  • If Nelson Mandela had given up on South Africa?
  • If MLK had said, “This is too big for me.”?

Now imagine...

  • If Europe and America responded to Hitler sooner? Perhaps, the holocaust could have been prevented!
  • If there were a dozen Nelson Mandela's in South Africa? Maybe the abuses would have been thwarted sooner!
  • If there were a dozen MLK's? Imagine if they acted sooner?

EVIL ONLY WINS WHEN GOOD PEOPLE DO NOTHING!

Good is light & love - And when light shows up darkness & evil vanishes at once. Make no mistake about it, darkness & evil may rave in fire & brimstone but in the end, they're nothing but a coward.

When we do nothing, the evil, greedy and power-hungry schemers that put all of this hateful division and tail-spin in place, win!. We must not sit by in silence, or history will judge us all 'THE GOOD' as unprofitable servants.

This Is The Moment

  • Be brave.
  • Be fair.
  • Be prayerful.
  • Stand on the side of love and light.

Do Not Be Passive in These Times - Be GOOD. Be LOVE. Be HUMAN.

Start by sharing this with people in your circle - You never know what you might spark by doing so.

FINAL WORDS OF COURAGE - MUST READ!

“I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth.” - Revelation 3:15–16

“The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.”Edmund Burke

“First they came for the Communists… then they came for the Jews… and when they came for me, there was no one left to speak out for me.”Martin Niemöller

“My conscience drove me to it — and finally that is a task for a man.”Helmuth James Graf von Moltke
